My shorts are from Tempt that i bought for my Touko cosplay for waicon.
My top is from Cotton On, which I brought when I went out ceetee shopping with Jessie and something spooky happened. I was in the changing rooms in Chic-a-Booti trying on some clothes but then after I was done, I was putting on my Ally sleeveless mullet dress back on but then it had suddenly become really loose around the chest area and would not stop falling down. I tried turning the dress back to front, and inside out in case I had the dress the wrong way around but no, it still wouldn't fit me, even with my belt. In the end, I had to wear my new clothes that I had just bought on the day, instead of my dress. I usually don't wear my clothes as soon as I buy them but I prefer to wait a while first but this was an emergency !

This is my OOTD from when I went to have dinner at Terrace Lounge with some friends. It was my first time at the restaurant and I gotta say, it left a rather poor impression on me. I understand that there was 10 of us but the food literally took an hour to arrive. We were all starving to begin with but the wait was terrible. We all ended up stopping all conversations and chewing down our food in silence when it finally came. Worst part was having to pay $22 for bad tasting risotto. I wouldn't mind the price if it was better tasting but this risotto was just bitter and bad. The sauce was too sour and the chicken was dry. *Dislike*

We had an A.S.I.A. committee photoshoot the other day for the magazine. I found it kinda nerve wreaking to be at Jun Song's studio and having people watch us take our individual shots but it was all fine in the end. I love how I got my photo in my first shot but the only thing I didn't like about that photo was that my eyes looked super squinty ! Loved my silly shot photo though so I hope they pick that one !

Yesterday was a very productive day ! I spent the whole day at Jessie's house working hard on finishing the A.S.I.A. magazine that we've been designing for the past couple of months. Then we went out for dinner with our A.S.I.A. boys. It was good catching up with friends :)

Roast Chicken

We had the perfect family 'dinner' tonight. Mum, dad, and I came home from work at 11pm today. When we opened the door, we were greeted with a nice surprise. Anna had made roast chicken with herbs. There was stuffing and everything !

The chicken was so nommy ! It was succulent and so smooth and tasty. Our family sat down together on the dining table for the first time in ages. You see, we're not the type of family who gets to spend a lot of family time together. Mainly, because my parents are always working very hard. I don't blame them or anything, it's just how things have to be. We sat down as a family, popped open some sweet wine, and feasted on my sister's lovely creation. The stuffing was so yummy and the potatoes were to die for.

I want to start blogging again, but not today. Today I don't feel like doing anything. I've just been a lazy bum all day long. I went out to a party last night. It was Louise's 18th birthday. I slept from 2am to 4pm. THAT'S 14 HOURS !! I normally sleep for about 5 hours or so on average? So today I was paying off my sleep debt. I've just been feeling lazy and groggy all day long. I just feel like lying down, or eating junk food, but there isn't much junk food in the house right now... devo !

Recently, I've been hearing a lot of rumours going around about me. I find it strange because this usually

What's odd is that there are multiple rumours.

On Saturday, friend # 1 told me about rumour # 1 where I am apparently going out with my friend E.
Today, another friend told me about rumour # 2 where I am apparently going out with friend # 1.
Later on in the day, a different friend told me that there are rumours of the two of us going out.

WHAT THE HELL !?!?

I hate not knowing who's starting all these rumours.

My naughty night

Yesterday, my day just kept getting brighter and brighter :)

I had my Management 100 exam yesterday in the afternoon and luckily, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
I was panicking so much beforehand, thinking that I would definitely fail the exam, and the unit, consequently having to repeat it another semester.
My exam consisted of two case studies and one essay question.
It was worth 50% of my grade.
I only need 32% to pass the unit so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, even though I screwed up the essay section.
I was so lucky that my exam was largely based on ethics, as that was the topic I knew the best :D

After my exam, I was planning on going back to the library to study for Monday's exam but then I got a call from a friend inviting me out...
I was hesitant at first, but I was persuaded in the end.

Aron and Jae came to pick me up from uni and together, we went off to the city to have dinner and go shopping. Before we knew it, it was getting late so we rushed over to Garden City to meet up with everyone else and watch X-Men First Class. It was such a good movie and I gotta admit, I went with the right people to watch it. There were about 10 of us sitting and laughing together, being a nuisance to the people around us - jk, we're good kids :D
The late night movie went on until 11:30pm.

The rest of my night shall remain as a happy secret.
I got home that night at 3:30am and got into trouble but I have no regrets. It was a good night and a nice way to de-stress during the exam period.

Awkward relationship

My friendship with Kay is awkward, to say the least. We met towards the end of last year and became quite close. There was not a single day that went by where we did not talk to each other. We talked about anything and everything. I loved waking up to a morning greeting every single day, and knowing that he would always wish me a simple Good Night at the end of everyday. Needless to say, I soon began to develop a little crush. We made plans to see each other when we were free, and would both sneak off at work to text the other person. Kay made me happy. He made me smile, he made me laugh, he made me feel good about myself.

I don't know what happened, but we drifted apart, to the point where we completely stopped talking to each other. Uni came along and there he was... I began to see him more often, but the circumstances were different. Everything had changed. Now, just talking to him feels awkward, let alone looking at him in the eyes.

Recently it's been getting quite cold in Perth.

Our summer was hot, Autumn was hot, and now.... *BAM* It's winter

Winter has always been my favourite season of the year. Why? Because I love winter fashion. I wish I was more trendy and had the dedication to keep up with new styles and trends, but somehow, that's just not me.

I reckon my sense of style is pretty "Asian".

I dress as though I belong in Asian night markets or the streets of Taiwan and Japan, and that's just the way I like it.

Of course, I can't manage to keep up with this style all-day, everyday, but I try my best.

Going to uni and studying in an environment that doesn't require a school uniform has really spiced up my life - why does that make me sound sad?

I enjoy waking up in the mornings and deciding what to wear to uni that day. I check the weather and then check my wardrobe. I love mixing and matching my clothes, and I try to look good all the time for uni.

So here's my first outfit of the day... ever.

I know, I know... I haven't been blogging for the longest time ever !

My archives are beginning to look tiny !

So what's my excuse this time?

Well, I suppose I've just been terribly busy recently. Before, I wondered how some people could be so preoccupied with their lives to even blog about it, but now I understand.

There's been so much happening in my life but I don't feel as though I want to backtrack too much and talk about everything... I want to do holiday posts, since I never ended up posting my summer holiday pictures onto my facebook. They deserve to be seen by some people !

From now on, I will try my best to update as often as I can :)

Despite drowning in my assignments. I have a total of four assignments that I need to complete, for my four units.

Oh yes, the biggest change in my life would be...
I STARTED UNI !

I can't believe I haven't posted about this at all, but then again it is only the second week...

So far, I am liking uni life :D

Of course, it has it's boring, sleepy, and cbf moments but that's only normal.

I don't think I ever mentioned this, but I changed my university preferences during the early hours of Christmas morning, before my flight.

I am now studying a double degree.

Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations)

Before my classes began, I would've said that I loved my uni timetable, but now that I've experienced it, I'm not so happy with it.

My wednesdays are horrible. I start at 11am and end with a compulsory lecture that finishes at 8:30pm. Throughout the day, I have a 2hr break, and also a 1.5hr break. Eughhh.

Here I am, spreading my camwhore disease, in class during my 3 hour workshop, with my tutor standing behind me :)

Mosquito Fest !

Yesterday I went crabbing with my dad. I met up with him at 7:00pm but since it's summer, it was still light outside. We drove off to Mandurah and arrived about an hour later, when it was dark.

First off, we walked onto the bridge to where there were quite a few other people fishing and leaving crab nets. I was in a life jacket and a rain coat, all wrapped up in a sad and heated attempt to keep the mosquitos away... Yeah, that's how cool I am :)

Needless to say, I failed.I now have 9 mosquito bites on my left hand, 5 on my right hand, and more on other parts of my body. I am the type of person to swell from insect bites, and then retain a scar that does not go away, seriously.

After catching two crabs, we decided to go into the water to look for more crabs. The water was cold to begin with but I got used to it... Sinking into the sand was pretty funny though ! Three more crabs later, we decided it was not worth it anymore to get attacked by the mozzies and we left to go to Rockingham, where we fished on the pier.

We had a competition of who could catch the most fish, excluding the super bony ones that we threw away. Dad caught the first few fish but then I started getting some as well and tadaaaa, I ended up winning by one fish ! I was so proud of myself :D During the night, we both had an occasion where we caught two fish in one go ! Coz we're pro like that ;]

The fish we catch, is no big deal... they're just small fishies but it's still so much fun ! I love the feeling of excitement when I feel a tug on my fishing rod and rush to bring the fish up !

Bet most of you can't see me as a fisherwoman eh? Hahaha

We left around 12:30am and daddy let me drive all the way home ! Freeways, dark roads, and everything ! :D

Gah what's with my emo posts?

I swear I'm actually a cheerful person in real life... despite what my blog posts imply.

It's just that sometimes, like everyone else, I feel the burning desire to rant, complain, and vent out my emotions. Hence why I have so many whiny blog posts !

I'd like to thank my readers and friends for their kind words of advice. It really does make me feel special when I know that people care.

Anyways, everything has been resolved with my friend. I guess it was our first fight? Not a good experience I tell you.

So you see, I have an odd sense of humour. Some say lame, some get it, and some just don't say anything at all - Nah jokes, I'm hell funny to the max :)

Well today, I was talking to a friend of mine and joking around, but somehow, my jokes were misinterpreted. My friend accused me of acting like an asshole. In all honestly, I was shocked. I was overrun by panic when I realised that I had actually unconsciously angered my friend, just by being myself.

I wondered if my friend was kidding, but I was wrong.

An hour has passed and I am still not forgiven.

Hello from New York !

Just kidding ! The photo was taken at Universal Studios, Singapore ! They had an area where it everything was NY themed... There was even a yellow taxi that everyone was swarming around to take photos with ! But not me... I'm too cool for that.

Hahaha more like there it was too crowded so I couldn't get a picture !

So I've been back in Perth for a little over a week now, and I've been working all day, everyday, except Tuesday. I only found out last minute that I would have the day off so Jessie and I quickly made plans to go to Carousel and watch Burlesque for our 2011 reunion !

We usually go on family holidays overseas at the end of each year so we don't get to see each other for ages! That's why our reunions are special ;]

Now I'm waiting for Mandy to come back so that we can have a group reunion with Jessie and Cassiie ♥

As I had previously mentioned, I've been to a few parties recently, so I thought, why not bombard my blog readers with pictures? ;D

A little while after leavers, Marie held a small Christmas party at her house :)

I met up with Erica and Henri beforehand and we all walked together.

The day was filled with drinking games and hilarious stories about the misadventures of Marie's sister whilst inebriated...

Erica celebrated her 17th birthday at Cockburn Ice Skating rink, which was where I fell on my butt and hurt myself.... and got a blister that scarred...

I rediscovered my dislike for ice skating, but I still had a good time, thanks to the great company :)

Ashleigh's 18th birthday was a themed party, where everyone was told to dress in "Wacky Formal"

I had a formal-ish dress, wacky hair and tights, and a bolero to cover my sunburnt/birth mark tan =_=

I had so much fun that night!

It was filled with loud music, some crazy seizure-inducing strobe lights, and dancing all night long~

The most recent party I attended was Cliantha's 18th birthday.

It took me 30 minutes to walk there and when I got there, no one could hear me ring the door bell over the loud music !

I eventually got in, and had fun catching up with my high school friends who I haven't seen in what seems like ages !

Gosh I've been so lazy recently - in terms of blogging.

In fact, I don't even know how to start bloggin again... there's just been so many overdue posts and updates that I ignored and I should probably write about before my memory becomes fuzzy...

Although, I am feeling sleepy and not really in the mood at the moment...

Recently, I've been going back to work quite often. It'll probably take over my life as soon as I get back from my holiday, if last year is anything to go by.

Besides work, I've also been going out with friends and to a few birthday parties, having fun catching up with people from school. It actually feels like it's been quite some time since I've seen some of my CVC friends, so a party is the best time to all meet up again :)

Sometimes, the customers at work ask me what I'm studying, and I'm always proud to say I just graduated from high school :D I AM OFFICIALLY A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, how great is that!?

Wow, this is the day I've been waiting for, for the past 3 weeks.

MY INTERNET IS BAAACCCCKKKK !!!@@@@!!!!@@@@@!!!!!

Long hiatus, I know, but it's alright now... I'm back :D

Actually, I've been going out quite a lot these days. I came back from leavers round 2 weeks ago, with the worst sunburn of my life. I got it from having my back exposed to the sun whilst rowing a boat on leavers. It looks so bad ! At first, everything was all red, and soo painful. It even hurt to lie down and sleep or sit back in a chair. Nowadays, my back is peeling and hopefully healing. I've been spraying an aftersun cooling spray I bought from the chemist for a while now. It's supposed to help me but I dunno if it's workiing or not... I'm also using aloe vera gel... I was wearing a tank top on the day so there's a cross shape on my back. In my opinion, I reckon it looks like I have brown angel wings....

So, whenever I go out, I have to make sure to cover my back at all times. Bad news is... I'm going to Malaysia soon, where it is absolutely hothothot !!! Gahhhh having to cover up will be torture ! I guess the other option is just ignoring it, but my 'tan' looks like a gross birth mark T_T

I also got lots of bruises and scars from climbing up and down a ladder at leavers... OH and I also ot nipped by a crab ! My own fault for not wearing shoes.... but my friends Henri and Dana got nipped as well... haha but besides that, leavers was great !

Other bodily injuries include a bad blister that hasn't healed yet, and also a sore bumbum =[ Both, from ice skating at a friend's birthday party. I was having fun with my friends, the four of us all holding hands in a line, with the front two people doing all the work whilst us back two weree just gliding and enjoying the ride. We were going really fast and all of a sudden, the less skilled out of the four of us (me), fell on her bumbum. It hurt so much, but I couldn't help but laugh. It was such a silly accident, but it left me in a lot of pain. Needless to say, it hurt to sit down....

Anyways, right now my favourite cousin - yup, I went there ;D - is here visiting us from Melbourne. Hehe she came specially to see Anna and I <3

Both enjoyable activities of course, but very time-consuming. I literally spend hours on the two websites...

I also need to watch the new We Got Married episodes that came out recently (and Glee and Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries) !!

Anyways, I'm going on leavers tomorrow and I just finished packing. Wooo a holiday with friends to celebrate our survival through high school ! It took me quite a while to gather everything and stuff it into my bags... I'm sure I over-packed but, oh well...

I'm bringing one small suitcase, a small backpack with wheels, a medium-sized handbag, a sleeping bag, and a pillow. Hopefully it'll all fit into Erica's car when she comes to pick me up in the morning !

I'm going to Ballee Island near Mandurah and I really don't know what to expect. Around 10 of us are renting a house on the island and we're gonna go kayaking, fishing, and crabbing ! Yayy~ But... is it even crabbing season yet?!?!? Hahaha...

So, I think I will be internet-free on the island, until I come back on the 29th... once again to my slow internet...

I just have to wait another... 3 weeks or so before I flood my blog with photos :D

Alright, bed time now... but first, I'm gonna put on a layer of clear top coat onto my nails so that they stay protected whilst I'm having fun on leavers xD

Playful Kiss

Even though I'm on my holidays already (!!) there's been a lack of updates on my blog. I could come up with a whole bunch of excuses if I wanted to really, but I think the main reason is because I've been engulfed in watching a particular Korean drama. Now, anyone who knows me in real life will know that I absolutely adore Asian dramas. Recently, it's been more Korean dramas since anything else, with the whole kpop addiction and everything..

Well, today I managed to watch the 16th and final episode of...

'Playful Kiss' :D

Gosh I love this drama !

It's based on the manga 'Itazura Na Kiss', and also a remake of the Taiwanese drama, 'It Started With A Kiss'.

I remember watching ISWAK a couple of years ago and really liking the storyline. Although once again, I prefer the Korean version. Maybe, I'm a bit biased in my judgement but I mean come on, it's KIM HYUN JOONG ! *cough*F4*cough*

Luckily, special episodes have been released onto youtube, so it won't be the end after 16 episodes. I think there's also episodes from Baek Seung Jo (Kim Hyun Joong)'s diary, which should be good since he's a kind-hearted person with a cold exterior x]

Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the special episodes anytime soon, since my internet limit has almost been reached. I'm actually less than 1% away from the limit actually... fml

We recently upgraded our internet services from 25GB to 50GB a month. I thought it would be a good change and that my sister and I probably wouldn't be able to use that much anyways, seeing as we don't download movies or anything.

Boy, was I wrong...

My sister thought this would be the best time to start downloading movies, and even downloaded the entire first season of Bones... what made it worse was that our internet had just recently renewed itself... So now, 9 days in, we're at 99% of the limit. Great, now there's gonna be 21 days with slow internet T_T

Honestly speaking, I don't think so.
Now hear me out. This is not me being modest or fishing for compliments.
Right at this point in my life, with the way I look, and my personal definition of the word, I seriously do not find myself "pretty". Nor do I find myself "ugly".
In my opinion, I'm just average.

With the freedom of the internet, I've been exposed to the wider society around me, and I've seen pictures of girls I find good-looking, and it's impossible for me not to compare myself with them. The girls with their milky white skin, their big eyes, their skinny legs, their perfect complexion, their toned stomachs, their sharp jawline, the list goes on... Of course, pictures can be deceiving, but these people exist in real life as well, walking down the streets.

I can't change the flaws I was born with, nor take back my past exposure to the sun, which resulted in my poor complexion (unless there's a magic cleanser anyone would like to recommend), but there is a lot I can try to improve about myself, appearance-wise. First of all, I want to lose weight. I was born with big bones and I've always been chubby. Sometimes I take it for granted, but thank God I'm tall. If I hadn't grown vertically, I would still be a round lump of Annie.

Nevertheless, I still want to lose weight, although I find it an impossible task to accomplish. I am the type of person who adores eating, so dieting does not work. I've tried before, but it pretty much only lasts for that one day, before I end up pigging out again.Where is my willpower?!?! I hate wasting food. I mean throwing out something that is edible is just plain wrong !

Since my parents own a restaurant, they're constantly bringing home delicious food. If my sister and I don't eat it, then it'd all go to waste. My sister is a very picky eater and if she doesn't like the look of something, then she won't even try it. Surprisingly enough, she's even pickier when it comes to food, than I am. Somehow, if she doesn't like the food at home, then she can just go without eating. Maybe that's why she's skinnier than me?

I on the other hand, feel guilty if there's lots of food at home that ends up going to waste, hence why I eat, Plus, I can't go too long without eating... haha I'm doomed....

Exercising helps people lose weight right? But it's just not my thing. I have absolutely no physical endurance. I keep hearing about people going to the gym, but I don't think it's my kinda thing, unless a friend goes with me? Since I'm quite a self-conscious person, going to the gym is something I find to be very embarrassing. Without the presence of a friend or family member, I would not be able to do even step foot in a gym where I feel as though I do not belong. The same goes for jogging outdoors etc.

Why don't I play a sport? Well, I'm not very sporty, and I hate letting down the team, but besides that, I've never really had the chance. I mean, how do people even join sports clubs outside of school? How do people have lives outside of school...? Now that I think about it, my lifestyle is so bland... but that's another story...

Maybe I should develop an exercise routine inside the comfort of my own home? Well, I guess that's possible, except I'm a very lazy person. I should really focus on the long term gain, but I just can't seem to get my lazy ass to exercise on a daily basis. And it's meant to be for a minimum of 30mins a day right? How am I supposed to manage that? In fact, what do I do to exercise? Do I use a skipping rope and jump in sets of 50 and then take a 5 minute break and start again? Would that work? Do I jog around the house? No, that would be silly since the house isn't big enough for that... Push ups? Hahaha I can't even manage to do one... Sit-ups? I also epically fail at those... Dance? I don't even know how to..... o.O

I have a funny feeling I'm over-complicating everything...

I guess my best bet would be to go on a diet... a low-carb diet. I guess I could attempt to eliminate all rice, noodles, potato, and bread from my diet - or at least cut down... But I'm Asian, what does that leave me with, fruit and vegetables? Hahahaa that would be hell for a person like me who cannot stand most veges. In fact, I haven't been able to swallow some vegetables ever since I was a little girl. Bok choy (chinese cabbage) is my worst enemy +_+

I hope to lose 5kgs before I start uni next year, and 10kgs before my 18th birthday in June. Is that even possible for me...? I mean, I am going on holiday that Malaysia later this year, where I will be exposed to all sorts of scrumptious foods and it'd be silly if I missed out on eating them... I guess I'll just have to eat sparingly.

Now, when should I start this diet....?

Gahhh I wish I had a high metabolism so that I could eat lots of yummy food and not get fat ! So envious of all the people who get to enjoy large amounts of food and still look gorgeous!

Gosh someone should just sponsor me and lemme have a liposuction treatment T_T I hate my stomach and my ginormous love handles that sit on my huge child-bearing hips...

Sigh... such a long blog post on what I dislike about myself...

Hi World, I'm back from my mini blog hiatus.

I finished my final high school exams yesterday and it feel so good to be free !

After 3 years at CVC, I've finally finished.

I'm done, done, done, done, DONE !!

Now, it's time to relax, since stressing for exams is a thing of the past (until uni starts, that is).

I heard this is supposed to be the best school holidays ever, the break between high school and uni, so I plan to make the most of it !

I've neglected so many things because of the exams.

I need to tidy up my room because it's a total mess.

I need to find somewhere to put all my high school notes and stuff.

I need to sort out my itunes (yes, it's a very important task) because my playlists all disappeared when I had my computer fixed.

I need to find an orthodontist because I want braces and I've been putting it off for the longest time !

I need to do my nails because I didn't take care of them when I had my exams.

I need to learn to drive !

I also really need to get out of the house more often. Seems like I've been cooped up in here for agggges, without going anywhere besides school and willo for my exams. I even missed out on a wedding dinner, because it was the day before my final exam. Actually, it's the second one I missed since there was another wedding dinner I didn't get to go to that was held the day before my final mock exam...

Oh, and I need to start working, so that I can earn money, and go shopping !! :D

Breast Cancer Awareness month

Today is the end of the month.

October was not just any month, it was

Breast Cancer Awareness month.

So, I dedicated two nail designs to the colour pink.

Fun, colourful polka dots for the first design, and a pink flower for the second design.

I should really take pictures when the designs are still fresh, rather than when they start to chip and look bad, and I decide to change my nails !

A wise friend once gave me some advice with studying. She said, "Stay away from the nail polish !"

Nightmare

This morning, I woke up from a horrible dream.

Does it classify as a nightmare?

I guess so.

I'm not usually the type to remember my dreams, so hence why this recollection is lacking in detail...

I was in a train going up a snowy mountain with my three closest friends, M, J and C.

Apparently, in my dream, we had only been friends for a year.

The three of them explained to me that they felt that had put my life in danger by befriending me... (bad guys trying to kill us for some reason)

I was told that we could no longer be friends.

I started crying...

M and J got off at a stop on the mountain, and started walking through the snow.

All I could see were their empty footsteps...

C got off at the next stop.

I was left by myself on the train.

I woke up to find that tears were actually rolling down my face, and that I couldn't stop them.

Is this a premonition of our friendship?

I don't want us to go our separate ways.

CS Karaoke competition

Thursday was a busy day for me. In the morning, I went off to Murdoch uni, since they were having a multicultural festival, and Anna invited me along.

Anna cosplayed, along with the people from her anime club :D

It was interesting to see all the stalls set up with food, arts and crafts, and many other displays. Unfortunately, I was expected the festival to be larger in scale...

However, there were performances from the many different cultures present, and seeing the fan dance reminded me of the good old days in year 9 when I learnt korean fan dancing.

Afterwards, we went out to the ceetee for some shopping :D

We shopped until our feet hurt, and then went over to the restaurant to eat.

Later that night, we went off to utopia to watch the karaoke competition held by Chinese Society. It was rather entertaining, and all the competitors were great singers.

I had a ranking in my mind, which ended up different from the judges' choices.

Despicable Me

I can't seem to reinstall windows live writer after it was removed along with the rest of the programs on my computer when it was fixed. So, I guess I'll have to blog through blogger, which is very annoying when you want to spam pictures in your posts =[

Since school is over already, I feel as though I really need to blog about what I did during my short break after my mock exams, since it was already over a week ago (yay for belated posts? hehe).

On Wednesday, I went to Carousel with the girls to watch Despicable Me. At first, I was reluctant, as the trailer and the pictures just didn't appeal to me. In fact, I was hoping to watch Easy A instead, but because of the bad timing of the screening sessions, I ended up watching Despicable Me. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how good the movie was. It was hilarious and oh. so. CUTE.

Oddly, we had the whole cinema to ourselves, until a woman came in with 2 children. I've never experienced such an empty cinema before, so we started snapping a few pictures.

So much has happened in the past week and I really need to find some time to blog properly.

My computer became infected with a virus so I had to get it fixed, and it was away for a couple of days.

I had internet access, but blogging on a different computer just didn't feel right.

Most importantly, I've officially finished high school !

I had my final classes on Thursday and Friday was a day filled with drug and alcohol talks...

Honestly, the whole week back at school has been pretty slack, but still, I can't believe it's all over.

Now, it's time to study for the big WACE exams that will determine my future.

My exams begin on 2 November and end on 9 November.

Graduation is on 17 November.

Can't wait !

Steph’s 18th

On Monday the 27th of September (seems like it was ages ago!) I went to lunch with my family at Hinz restaurant in Northbridge. We had a massive banquet feast because daddy’s auntie was leaving back for Singapore, after her 3 month stay in Perth.

We had a set menu and there was sososo much food! I ended up feeling full before all the food came out…

I didn’t remember to snap pictures of all the food because I was too distracted with engulfing everything :D

Afterwards, Anna and I separated from the others and killed time in Northbridge, waiting for Steph and the rest of her party to come from ice skating.

We went to Timezone, where I got myself a VIP membership card :D It’s not actually very exclusive, as all you need to do is have a balance of $30 to upgrade your card, but I felt special nonetheless. Especially since there was a deal which gave you a bonus $10 if you added $20. Therefore, I paid $20 and got myself $30 worth of games – discounted because of the VIP card as well~ Woooo x]

Since Timezone is quite small in the ceetee, we soon ran out of interesting games to play, and headed over to Nandos for some food…

Later, we met up with Steph and her friends, and went ktving.

After dinner, it was back to Steph’s house where we had cake and chatted the night away~

Perth Royal Show 2010

On the Saturday before my mocks study break from school, Anna and I went to the Perth Royal Show. In the afternoon, we had a family dim sum for lunch at the newly renovated restaurant in Northbridge. I think it’s called Tian*something*Dian. It was nice trying out all the new dishes and desserts.

After eating for what seemed like ages, Anna and I went off to the train station to meet up with King Kong and co. to go to the royal show.

I’ve been playing with my 88 warm colour eye shadow palatte recently, so hence the use of colours in pictures to come in the future. Yay for discovering the wonders of eye shadow ♥

When we reached the show, it was already packed with people. But then again, I guess we did go on the first or second day…

We walked around a lot, through all the buildings filled with flowers, cakes, animals… but eventually went back outside for the games and rides.

This was a crazy ride that I was crazy enough to think it would be fun. It was quite the opposite, really… It spun so much, it felt like my head was the heaviest part of my body, so I had to keep it down the whole ride. The machine also pushed me to the right, which caused to to push all my body weight onto my right arm, which was being squashed next to the seat. Needless to say, I earned a ginormous bruise that decided to pitch a purple tent on my arm for the next two weeks.

I love bumper cars…. *booom*

Nono, we’re already tall… we don’t need this mirror!

Hahaha I kid, I kid…

I had my last mock exam yesterday and it’s so good to have a break. My term 3 holidays is only 3 days long, but I plan to make the most of it before we have to return back to school on Friday.

Exams were stressful. I hope I did well, but I know I need to study a whole lot harder for my end of year WACE exams. No, I’m not trying to say I didn’t study much for my mocks. I studied a lot. I just need to do more for my upcoming exams. The exam I’m worried about the most would definitely be biology. I didn’t get to finish the paper and am highly disappointed in myself for it. I mean, considering that I want to go into a biology-related course in university next year, my grades should be higher.

I need to focus more attention on biology, that’s for sure. English would be the next exam I’m worried about, since I didn’t finish that one either. In fact, I didn’t finish any of my papers… not that I ever expected myself to finish biology, since you can always add more points to the extended answer. For my english exam, I found that the writing and viewing sections were alright, but the reading section is the part I had trouble with. I didn’t get to finish the first question, which was worth 10 marks, but I did finish the second question worth 20 marks… although that wasn’t done to the best of my abilities…

Aghhhh this blog post is so depressing~!

The Removalists

At the end of August, the 3A/3B English students at my school were studying a controversial play called ‘The Removalists’. We were given a book to read, which contained the script, and then we went on a school field trip to go see the play performed by the Perth Theatre Company.

It was my very first time watching a professional production at a playhouse theatre. Needless to say, I was very excited.

The plan was to meet up at school and then we would board two buses that would take us into the city, where the theatre is located. Apparently ‘The Removalists’ will be the final production in the soon-to-be-demolished Playhouse Theatre. I was surprised to see that the school had booked good-quality buses for us (for once), as I was used to the cruddy buses we usually get for our biology and history excursions…

The play itself, was unfortunately, a little disappointing. I suppose my expectations were set a bit too high, since it was my first experience.

Back in school, we had to write a review for the play in a one hour session in class. Luckily, we were allowed to bring one page of notes with us to class. Surprisingly, I wrote 5 pages, which was too much. My teacher said that my review was too detailed. Nonetheless, I received a score of 22/30 for the review, which I am quite happy about.

I finally bought myself some China Glaze nail polish! ♥

Remember, last time I mention I was in love with the Up & Away collection, well I went and bought five polishes from the collection, and three are shown here today.

I love my pastels~! These are my first China Glaze nail polishes and I gotta say, I can see the difference between these and some of the polishes I’ve used in the past. They’re so easy to apply, and two coats is pretty much all you need.

School has been so hectic this week, hence the lack of updates. I've had assessments for every single one of my subjects, plus a ton of homework on top of that. I'm just glad it's over, except I still have a biology assignment that need finishing...

I still can't believe that high school is almost finished. Next week is out last week of term, and then there's our 1 week study break and mock exams. It hasn't sunking in yet. I desperately need to studying a whole lot more than what I am doing right now, if I don't want to disappoint myself. Hmmph.

Over the weekend, I applied for uni through TISC. My preferences are as followed:

I find Go Away to be the best out of the three. I love it. It's just so full of raw emotions and so dramatic. The 6 minute long music video has the power to pull on the hearts of its viewers, causing them to sympathize with the protagonist. I like music videos that have a storyline behind them like 'Go Away', G.NA's 'I'll Back Off So You Can Live Better', and TaeYang's 'Wedding Dress'.

Although there's more autotune in these 2NE1 songs than I'm used to, Park Bom's vocals successfully pulls the songs together.

I love how the girls are so tough, so charismatic.

I closed down my blog for a day so that I could organise a new layout, and here we are. Welcome to the new and improved x-saigo-jelly-x :D

I also joined nuffnang. Since I am horrible with computers and technology in general, I had a tough time with all the HTML codes... It took me so long to paste the nuffie signs everywhere, since my layout was so different from the sample one! The signs kept landing on places they weren't supposed to be in until I ended with this final layout. It's still pretty messy, especially the poll --->

Sports carnival

I am so unfit!

We had our sports carnival in school yesterday and my body is now aching everywhere!

My back hurts, my thighs hurt, my neck hurts, my arms hurt! Aghhhh
Yesterday was my first and final CVC sports carnival and I am so glad I went. Last year, we had an Over at my house with the girls and had so much fun, but this year I participated in school instead.

I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to go or not at the beginning of the week, but I was convinced by my friends that it would be great, and I got all excited. I woke up early in the morning to get ready and dress up in my faction colour, which was blue :D I was so lucky, considering the other colours were green, red, and gold, and I don’t own many clothes in the other colours! I mean seriously, gold?!?! What are people meant to do, cover themselves in their gold medals or something? They should have at least made the faction yellow instead…

The day was pretty much a relaxation day with a picnic with friends, sausage sizzles, photos, with a pinch of sports ;]

I had fun with the events I took part in, and also tried some of the events when no one was looking, so that I wouldn’t embarrass myself! I can now say with confidence, that I can do the hurdles without kicking it over, avoiding it, or crawling under, although my back does feel a sensation after a while… I’m getting old =[

For the event, I had on a blue jersey, blue shorts, blue shoes from year 9, blue tigger socks, blue contacts, blue earrings, a blue bow, oh and a blue bag :D

It was a fun day, with blue coming up as the winners ♥
It was nice being able to relax with some friends and not have to worry about school, at least not for a little while.
The amount of time we have until our mock exams is about 4 weeks, which is an overwhelmingly short period of time.

On Thursday, Anna and I also continued on with our late night movie tradition, and watched Piranha in 3D. Let me tell you this, the movie was indeed a triller. It’s a remake of the 1978 film Piranha, where the man-eating fish are set loose onto innocent tourists. The film is literally half Spring Break nakedness, and half gruesome deaths but killer fish.

Overall, I guess I would rate this film a 2.5/5. Harsh, but then again, I guess it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Especially not for $20 a ticket. Although, I guess the director, Alexandre Aja, can be credited for a great build-up of suspense.

The girl sitting next to Anna screeched at the end of the movie, scaring everyone in the cinema.

Retail therapy

Last Thursday, I went for some retail therapy after my last session maths test. I had only found out about the test on the day because when the teacher had mentioned an investigation, I had mistaken it for a take-home investigation in which we would be given a validation in-class the next week! After cramming during my study sessions, I came out of the test nervous.

Mummy had been invited to a VIP Myer event that day but she had to work, so Anna and I went in her place. The cosmetics/fragrance area of Myer had been renovated in Carousel so they invited people for some drinks, finger food, and special deals. Upon entry, we were given a Myer goodie bag that contained a new Myer emporium magazine, and some free samples that were different in every bag. My bag contained a men’s Calvin Klein fragrance that I gave to my daddy, a Revlon age defying foundation in light medium that was too dark for my skin tone, and two Shiseido Revitalizing Emulsion N, which I have yet to try.

No pictures since I didn't want to get weird looks from Myer people for snapping photos!

It was nice having waiters come and offer me drinks and tiny bites of food~ Anna and I looked around, and it was then that I realised how disappointing the Myer in Carousel truly is. It seriously lacks the majority of brands that you can find if you travel to the city, or even Garden City shopping centre. I purchased part of Anna’s birthday present there that day though, but I’m keeping it a secret for now.

After the event, we went to go eat and then went to do some shopping. Having left for Carousel earlier than usual that day, it felt weird to have all that extra time to relax and lounge around. At the pet shop, we spotted some chicken and Japanese quail.

I am going to start a lipstick collection.

I’ve always been a little embarrassed I guess, to express my fondness for makeup. I suppose it’s because my close friends don't wear makeup (I'm not trying to blame them for my issues!), and I’m also a very self-conscious person.
That ends today.
I should start being proud of the things I like, and stop worrying so much about what other people think.
Right...?

My collection is still small, since I only just started, but I hope it’ll continue growing. I bought three new lipsticks on Thursday~ *lalalaaaa*

Murdoch Open Day

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Murdoch university’s open day all by myself. I really liked the vibe and the friendly people everywhere.

Murdoch had many displays, booths, and stalls. I was even able to find specific information about a certain course I’m interested in, as I drilled the information lady. Murdoch looks like it would be a really interesting place to study, and will definitely be my second uni preference because of it’s science facilities.

I roamed around looking at all the buildings they had, and even took a peek at a lecture room!

The food stalls there were so popular, the lines were massive! I bought a churro and a spiral fried potato thingy. The churro was de-li-ciousss but the latter was a complete disappointment. The line for the spiral potato was the longest, and after queuing up for around 15minutes, I received a spiral that wasn’t fully cooked, and lacked flavour. I guess you can’t blame the workers, considering how the demand was so high, but I ended up chucking mine away after eating half of it. How un-Asian of me!

The last area I went to see before I left for tuition was the psychology department. I loved it there. There was a fake smile test on the computer, which I got 16/20. Yayyy 80% :D

They also showed us a documentary that suggested the Mona Lisa’s smile was a fake :o

UWA Open Day

Anna and I went to UWA’s open day last week. It was our first time there and we got to see the pretty buildings UWA is known famous for. Annnnd, I also saw the location where we were supposed to have our ball photos taken =[

The first building I walked into was all related to health and the environment. Luckily for me, since it’s the field I am interested in. Honestly, I don’t think they had as much information set out as I’d hoped for, since they didn’t even have a climate change stall!

I ended up grabbing all the information sheets on climate change, environmental science, marine biology, etc etc. and spoke to the helpers a little.

Afterwards, we roamed around the campus exploring.

It was a fun day, but we had to leave early because I had to rush back for tuition!

Sizzler

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY ♥

Our family celebrated mummy’s birthday a total of 3 times, and it was totally worth it :D

On Saturday, we went to have lunch at Sizzler for the first time ever. I was surprised to find out how good it was! They have a salad bar buffet for $17.95, plus a deal where you could get steak, chips, and prawns :)

I remember all the times we went to buffets back in NZ. I think this might’ve been our first buffet in Perth? Well, semi-buffet in my opinion, but I seriously have not seen that many buffets around here…

The food was yummy, and the service was good. Definitely going back there again, if I get the chance :D

Lisyn’s 18th!

Lisyn’s 18th birthday was on Saturday, so she threw a birthday bash at her house.

As per usual, her house was filled with food!

Anna and I arrived 30mins late, but we were shocked to find out that we were the first ones there… When I was at the empty doorway, I was beginning to think that I had the wrong date!

Poor Lisyn…. everyone was late! Nikki arrived after us. She’s Lisyn’s childhood friend from primary school, and a really nice person~

Annie made a friend =]

I was having back pains that day and Lisyn noticed, so she suggested that I try out an old Chinese technique, which supposedly gets rid of pain, and is excellent when you have the flu. It’s like the cups from the Karate Kid, except without the fire. I had never seen it in real life before, and Lisyn said that it would be slightly painful, which added to my nervousness. Nevertheless, I tried it out. I had two cup thingys pumped onto me. The first was done by Anna, and the second by Lisyn’s mum. The second one seemed to come out of nowhere, and was obviously more painful than Anna’s one because Auntie was being forceful!

I felt a slightly painful, sucking/pinching sensation, as it was left attached to me for a few minutes. The cups made my skin turn red, and the marks are still there today. Apparently they’ll go away in a few days… I heard that red is better than the purple that Lisyn gets when she does it, because purple means you have a lot of toxins in your body or something like that? I’m not sure….

Was the pain worth it? Well, I adjusted to the pain after a while, but it didn’t seem to cure my muscle pain!

Punch! Like on American tv!!!! :D

I watched Auntie prepare some punch (Juice+FruitSalad) in a proper punch bowl. Hehe it was so fascinating. Then she proceeded to spiking the drink with Midori! It was hilarious to watch some friends react when they found out there was alcohol in the punch! Mind you, it was only a tiny bit, so the taste was completely overpowered by the juice.

Lisyn also had her first taste of alcohol that day, but she washed out her mouth straight afterwards!

Splice && Inception

On Monday, I went home to find that daddy had cooked us up some huge crabs ♥ Yumyumyum! The meat was sweet and abundant~ I heard that one of the crabs costed $50 all by itself. Imagine the people who go eat crab at restaurants! They would definitely price up. Luckily, daddy is a great chef, which means it’s cheaper and easier for my tummy to be satisfied :D

Anyways, after eating, I quickly got ready to go out, and met Anna around 6pm at Carousel. I bussed there by myself and on the way, some dodgy fella was talking to me! He smiled at me so out of politeness, I smiled back. Then he started talking to meeee! He asked me my name, where I come from, my school… etc etc… He started going on about how he was treated like a king where he came from (the Middle East) but in Australia, nobodies cares about anyone else. I was actually quite worried when I was talking to him, since he was asking me all these personal details about me, whilst being a total stranger!

Next time, I should just look out the window or something!

Nandos was the only restaurant open in Carousel by the time I arrived so Anna was having dinner while waiting for me, and I had some yummy peri-peri chips. We only went to Nandos because nothing else was open. Anna usually dislikes Nandos so I don’t get to eat there when I’m out with her. After trying her burger though, I think she may have changed her mind?

At 6:30pm, we went upstairs to the cinema area and I was surprised to see how many people there were. I had completely forgotten that the cinemas don’t close when the mall does. Anyways, we were able to see an advanced screening of the thrilling Splice, all thanks to StudentEdge. The movie was packed full of people.

I thought it was a good movie, which talked about gene technology and the things I am currently learning in biology. What a coincidence. There were some dodgy bits in the movie that made everyone squirm but other than that, it was a pleasant movie.

Afterwards, we went out to the bus stop to find out that our last bus had left 15mins before we got there, and the only other bus was one we’d never heard of. Since it was still around 8:30pm, we decided to watch another movie and then get picked up by our parents later on. We decided to watch Inception.

I found the movie to be really good, just like a lot of others. It was really interesting and mind-boggling at times, in fact, all the way to the end. I laugh at the debates the ending of the film can cause between two friends.
